TwtAd.com Becomes RevTwt.com

Recently, and for reasons I can't seem to grasp, TwtAd.com changed their name and their website to RevTwt.com.

This, in my opinion has accomplished two things: 1) Made more work for me. Because they have changed their URL to RevTwt.com, I have to go and change all of my posts that mention TwtAd.com to the new URL. Furthermore, they also changed my referral link to reflect their new URL. Basically it's like starting over. Okay, enough about me... 2) It's seems that with the new URL, RevTwt.com is adding or changing more and more services every day! This is good news! Let me share...

A) RevTwt.com is crackin' down on the TOS! For the true publisher (like me :]) this is very good news. This means, that spammers/cheaters out there will get banned/blocked from using the site. This in turn means more advertisers will likely use RevTwt.com's system because of the integrity and honest publishing that is going on. Which, in turn, means more money for me! (Or you ;]).

B) RevTwt.com is now offering TWO more methods of getting paid. Besides the normal post-click-get paid method, now publishers can get paid for each ad they post based on the number of followers they have. What's more, the followers don't need to click on anything! You just get paid for posting! Granted their are limitations on most of the ads like, "up to a certain amount of followers" or the ad must be published in your Twitter feed for 3 days, etc. The last method actually doesn't even have to be used in conjunction with Twitter! More or less, they are ads that can be placed anywhere, (Twitter, Blogs, Emails, Signatures, etc.) and you get paid based on the traffic driven or the actions the users take after they click on the ads.

C) Lastly, RevTwt.com seems to be getting serious about how they are delivering click stats to their publishers. I have yet to see a day where something is different about how the stats look. But change, in my opinion is good. It can only mean that it's a work in progress and future results will be sublime.

That is all I have for today. Hope nobody got thrown of the track with the change from TwtAd.com to RevTwt.com. Let me know if you have any questions and as always post your comments below!

Make Money By Posting Links

A number of you have asked about the different websites that allow you to make money by posting links. Today, I would like to discuss some of the more popular websites that allow you to do so.

Before we begin, you must remember that when you make money by posting links, that you are advertising a product. If this is done incorrectly, you will lose your Twitter followers. Please refer to Make Money With Twitter Advertising for information on how to properly advertise on Twitter.

You will notice that I have left "Twitter" out of the title on this post today, because while you can make money by posting links on Twitter, you can make money by posting links on just about anything! Again, be careful where you post the links. You do not want to SPAM any system, website, blog, etc.

With that said... Let's begin!

The first and most common method to make money by posting links is with HootSuite.com. This is the only one of the three systems I will mention today that can only be used with Twitter. HootSuite.com integrates your Google Adsense account into your links. You supply the link to HootSuite.com and they will supply you with a shortened link. You write a quick tweet and submit the tweet to twitter. When a user clicks on this new, shortened link they will be taken to the original webpage with a small difference. A Hootsuite.com banner will be placed on top of the page with two sections. One containing all you Twitter information, a retweet button and a website voting system. The other section contains an ad from your Google Adsense account. Here is an example of a HootSuite.com link: http://ow.ly/5jvs. How to start: 1) Register with Hootsuite.com. 2) Provide your Twitter account information. 3) Provide your Adsense account information. 4) Grab ANY web link. 5) Shorten the link with Hootsuite. 6) Submit your tweet. 7) Make money by posting links!
WARNING: Seems that HootSuite.com is having issues making things work with Adsense. Here is a direct quote from their site: "We are currently experiencing issues with AdSense integration. Your ads may not be displayed. We are in communication with Google about this issue, and we will keep our users updated."

The next two methods on how you can make money by posting links are very similar. Linkbee.com and Adjix.com allow you to shorten links and post them ANYWHERE! Both of these mediums do the same "banner" thing as Hootsuite.com except this time, they provide their own ads. You do not need to get your Google Adsense account involved. They both pay you through your PayPal account. Here is an example of an Adjix.com link: http://adjix.com/d6q3

Linkbee.com takes the process a step further with it's easy to use design, it's link tracking capabilities, it's referral program, among many other things. All you need to do is sign up and you can start making money by posting links.

Also, Linkbee.com allows you to post the link with another money making option. Instead of using a banner you can select to have the link take you to a "landing page" before it takes you to the actually link. The landing page acts as a 10 second commercial (with clickable ads) between the link click and the final link result. Here is an example of a Linkbee.com banner: http://linkbee.com/Z54D. And here is their commercial: http://linkbee.com/Z54W

Hope this has been an informal post on how to make money by posting links. Please feel free to try out the examples given (and click on ads :)) and let me know if you have any comments or questions!

Make Money With Twitter Affiliates: Hummingbird

I'm sure most of you have heard or seen by now the many different spams, emails, direct messages or advertisements about your Twitter account and how you can make money with twitter by signing up and paying a one time fee. These are called Pyramid Schemes and for the most part THEY DON'T WORK! Do not waste your money on them. HOWEVER, there are a few companies out there that offer products for sale and pay you a commission for referring them a client. These are called affiliate sales or affiliate networking.

Today, I want to go into some detail about THE BEST Twitter Affiliate. Not only do they offer a solid product which I use every day, but they pay you very well for referring them business. This Twitter Affiliate is known as Hummingbird by Mesiah Labs.

Hummingbird allows me to capture targeted followers on Twitter. The program is an actual browser that will log you into your Twitter account. Once you log you, you search for people based on your interests. Find a Twitter user that seems to have a good following of people. Click on his/her follower list to view all of their followers. Once you are on this page, you can click a button on the Hummingbird browser that will automatically follow all of these users. The Hummingbird creators would like you to wait one day to allow time for those that will follow you back. After the 24 hour period, you can go to your list of followers and click an "unfollow" button to only unfollow those that did not follow you. Then you can start the whole process over again.

Doesn't that classify as spam? No! Hummingbird has taken it a step further. Once you unfollow someone, the program remembers them and you will never follow that person again. In Hummingbird you will never follow the same person twice!

For example, I have a real estate license and one of my Twitter Accounts, @RealtorRyan, is all about real estate. When I open Hummingbird, I search for the term "real estate". I take a look at one of the most followed real estate gurus. I then click on his/her follower link. Then hit the button to "follow all" and now I'm the guru! I invite you to check out my Twitter following. I started about 2 or 3 months ago and currently I have about 24,000+ followers who actually like to know about real estate. I don't think you will ever find a better solution to getting targeted followers. What's more, it's all automatic! I can set the browser to "follow all" or "unfollow all" and go grab a cup of coffee!

Okay... So where do you get paid? Once, you purchase the program, you are giving a referral code. I know what you are thinking... "How much?" This is gonna hurt... $197.00. Yes, I thought it was a lot at first as well. Why would anyone pay almost $200 for a program that no one has heard of. Well I went for it... and as you can see in the Twitter account I posted above, It's well worth it. Not to mention, this whole blog is about how to make money with Twitter. The more followers I have, the better.

So, I figured, in my case anyway, that this product is twofold. I can buy the product, get the referral code, gain followers and refer them the product I am using to get the followers. How genius is that? For every referral that purchases Hummingbird, I get 30% of the entire sale. That's $59! Quick math says, I only have to bring in 4 referrals to get my money's worth. Not to mention, now that I have huge followings, I'm making a killing on all the other methods I use to make money with Twitter.

This is just one methods of how you can make money with Twitter Affiliates. Check back again for some details on others. In the meantime, check out Hummingbird and please leave any comments or questions!

UPDATE (5/4/09): For one month only, the creators of Hummingbird are allowing your to purchase a copy for 15% off. That's almost $30! Please enter this discount code at checkout: RECESSION
